There was a time when discovering a new clothing brand meant more than opening an app.
You had to know where to look.
You had to know who was paying attention.
You had to walk into the right shop, talk to the right person, and sometimes take a chance on something you'd never seen before.
In San Diego, 5&ADIME became one of those places.
And behind it was Jason Huggins.
For more than two decades, Huggins has been one of the people quietly helping shape San Diego's relationship with streetwear, skateboarding, fashion, music, and independent culture. His influence isn't defined by one particular brand or one particular storefront. It's defined by his ability to recognize culture before it becomes obvious.
He has built stores.
He has supported brands.
He has DJ'd the city's nightlife.
He has collaborated with artists and creatives.
And he has continued to create spaces where different sides of San Diego culture can intersect.
For Huggins, the store was never just the store.

There is a difference between selling products and curating culture.
A retailer sells you something.
A curator introduces you to something.
That's an important distinction when talking about Huggins.
His vision has always extended beyond simply filling a store with clothing. The brands, artwork, products, music, people, and atmosphere all contribute to a larger experience.
It's about creating a point of view.
You walk in and immediately understand what the person behind the counter is into.
With Tito Ricks, the same philosophy continues to evolve.
Different project.
Different identity.
Same curator.
Huggins has never appeared interested in simply repeating what worked before.
Instead, each project becomes another opportunity to explore an idea, build an environment, and bring people together.
That's what makes his body of work interesting.
